Questions and answers
1. Is there many machine control systems currently supported by Mastercam? Are there any applications for Industry 4.0? For example, for programming and monitoring?
Mastercam software can support all machine tool control systems on the market. In Industry 4.0, multiple interfaces can be supported, and various programming needs can be met, such as offline programming with Robot Master. Probe applications can help us effectively improve product processing quality monitoring.
2. When processing hollow parts, is the effect of down milling or up milling better?
Down milling is better for finishing.
3. What is the difference between "automatic" and "semi-automatic" functions in "Mastercam 3+2 automatic rough cutting"?
For the relatively satisfactory 3+2 fixed surface rough cutting, choosing the automatic mode can help us realize multiple view surface processing through one operation and greatly improve the programming processing efficiency. For the machining of multiple irregular feature surfaces, it is more accurate to select manual or semi-automatic programming for rough cutting.
4. What are the tool axis control methods supported by Mastercam?
According to different multi-axis toolpath applications, the software can support a variety of different tool axis control methods. Such as surface, straight line, plane, from point, to point, from series, to series, curve control, etc.
5. What is the maximum tool tilt angle that can be set during multi-axis machining?
In multi-axis machining, the forward and roll angles must be between -179.999 and 179.999. When you enter the wrong value, the software will pop up an alarm.
6. Does the Mastercam "multi-axis deburring" strategy have any requirements for the knife?
The "multi-axis deburring" strategy only supports ball cutters and sugar ball milling cutters.
7. Where are the five-axis programming tool advance and retreat settings?
Mastercam five-axis advance and retreat tool can be flexibly set in the multi-axis strategy link mode. By default, the parameters do not use cut-in and cut-out. You can choose a reasonable advance and retreat tool according to the actual processing conditions of the part.
8. There is no problem with software simulation during four-axis machining, but reverse machining occurs during actual machining. What is the reason?
This is mainly because the rotation direction of the turntable of your on-site machine tool is inconsistent with the setting of the turntable direction defined by the software.
