CNC machining center six cutting methods, do you know which is the most practical?

    2020.12.28

    Reciprocating cutting

The reciprocating cutting method creates a reciprocating parallel cutting tool path, which keeps continuous movement during the step movement. Without lifting the tool, it can maximize the material removal, which is the most economical and economical cutting movement. This kind of cutting method coexists with forward milling and reverse milling. If the operation of wall cleaning is enabled, the tool path direction of wall cleaning will be affected, so as to keep the wall cleaning simple.

    Unidirectional cutting

The one-way cutting method has parallel and one-way cutting tool path, and the return is a fast cross movement. Because there is no cutting in the return, it will affect the processing power. Unidirectional cutting can always keep the same down milling or reverse milling cutting. It is generally used for the surface processing of islands and the occasions where reciprocating cutting method is not applicable, such as some rib plates of steep walls, which are generally used for finishing with the surface.

    Cutting in one direction

Along the general one-way cutting is used to create parallel, one-way, along the general tool path, always maintain the forward milling or reverse milling cutting. The quality of machined wall is better than that of reciprocating cutting and unidirectional cutting, and the cutting is more stable, and there is no impact on the tool, so it is generally used for machining parts with higher side wall requirements or thin-walled parts.

    Follow the cutting around

The following peripheral cutting method is mainly used to create a concentric tool path along the generalization sequence. It is obtained by offsetting the generalization of the periphery. All the paths are presented in the closed form in the machining area. The tool path followed by peripheral cutting is the tool path of continuous cutting. There is no empty cutting, and it can basically maintain simple forward milling or reverse milling. Therefore, it has high cutting power, and can also maintain cutting stability and ensure machining quality. It is generally used for rough machining of parts with islands and cavities.

    Follow workpiece cutting

Follow the workpiece cutting method to generate a series of profiling to be processed parts all the specified general tool path,

Both the peripheral wall and the island of the offset cutting area are modeled. These tool path shapes are obtained through the outline of the offset cutting area and the island outline. The tool path following the workpiece is the tool path of continuous cutting. There is no empty cutting, which can maintain simple forward milling or reverse milling. Therefore, it has high cutting power, and can also maintain cutting stability and ensure machining quality. It is generally used for machining areas with islands.

    Cycloid cutting

Cycloid cutting method is used to generate a small circle around the outline, so as to avoid the occurrence of full tool cutting in cutting, resulting in the cutting of too much material. Cycloid cutting is suitable for high-speed machining, with relatively uniform cutting load.
