01 Global manufacturing PMI was 49.5% in June

Data released by the China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing on July 6 showed that the global manufacturing PMI was 49.5% in June 2024, down 0.3 percentage points from May. This is also the third consecutive month below 50%, and the third consecutive month of month-on-month decline.

By region, in June, the European manufacturing PMI was 48%, down 1 percentage point from May, failing to continue the rapid upward trend of the previous month; the Americas manufacturing PMI was 48.9%, down 0.2 percentage points from May, and has declined month-on-month for three consecutive months; the African manufacturing PMI was 48.6%, down 0.2 percentage points from the previous month, and has declined month-on-month for two consecutive months, running below 50% for two consecutive months; the Asian manufacturing PMI was 51.1%, the same as last month, but the PMI has been above 51% for four consecutive months.

02 As of the end of June, the cumulative production and sales of domestic new energy vehicles exceeded 30 million units

According to statistics from the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, as of the end of June this year, the cumulative production and sales of domestic new energy vehicles exceeded 30 million units; the market share of Chinese brand passenger cars exceeded 60%, achieving an upward breakthrough.

According to the association’s analysis, since the beginning of this year, the main economic indicators of the automobile industry have shown a growth trend. Since the base in the same period in the first quarter was relatively low and the growth rate exceeded double digits, the overall growth rate slowed down after the second quarter compared with the first quarter. In the first half of the year, domestic sales increased slightly year-on-year, and terminal inventories were higher than normal levels; automobile exports maintained rapid growth, contributing significantly to the overall growth of the market, and the growth rate of new energy vehicle exports slowed down significantly; new energy vehicle production and sales continued to maintain rapid growth , market share has steadily increased.
