First of all, let's understand what is plating? Electroplating is the process of plating a thin layer of other metals or alloys on the surface of certain metals on the surface of certain metals. The electrolyte is used to make the surface of the metal or other material and other material. Rust), improving wear resistance, conductivity, reflux, corrosion resistance (copper sulfate, etc.) and enhance beauty.
Divided into specific processes such as copper plating, gold -plated, silver -plated, chrome -plated, nickel -plated, and galvanizing. In the field of manufacturing, galvanized, nickel -plated and chrome -plated are the most widely used. Let's take a look at the differences between these three today.
01-Galvanized
▼
Definition: Galvanizing refers to the surface treatment technology that plated a layer of zinc on the surface of metal, alloy or other materials to plating a beautiful and rust -proof effect.
Features: low cost, average corrosion, and silver -white.
Applications: screws, circuit breakers and industrial supplies.
02-Nickel plating
▼
Definition: The method of plating a layer of nickel on metal or certain non -metals through electrolytic or chemical methods is called nickel plating.
Features: Beautiful, can be decorated, high price, slightly complicated in craftsmanship, and color of silver white.
Application: Energy -saving lamp head, coin and hardware, etc.
03-Chrome-plated
▼
Definition: Chromium is a slightly blue bright white metal. The method of plating a layer of chromium on metal or certain non -metals through electrolytic or chemical methods is called chrome plating.
Features: There are two types of chrome plating. The first is decorative effect. The appearance is bright and friction resistance is better. The rust -proof ability is not as galvanized and better than oxidation. The second is to increase the hardness, wear resistance of metal parts, etc. This is the functionality of parts.
Applications: bright decorative parts, tools and faucet on home appliances, electronics and other products.
The most basic differences between the three electroplating are the following aspects:
1. Chromium plating is mainly to improve surface hardness, beautiful and rust. Chromium -plated layers have good chemical stability, and do not have effects in alkali, sulfides, nitric acid and most organic acids, but can be dissolved in hydalic acid (such as hydrochloric acid) and hot sulfuric acid. Because chromium does not change color, it can maintain its reflection capacity for a long time than silver and nickel. The process is generally plated.
2. Nickel plating is mainly abrasion, corrosion corrosion and rust, and generally thinner thickness. If the process is divided into two types: electroplating and chemistry.
3. Galvanizing is mainly beautiful and rust -proof. Zinc is a lively metal and can react with acid, so the corrosion resistance is poor, which is the cheapest of the three.
The difference in cost is the most expensive, nickel is the second, zinc is the cheapest. Among them, it is also necessary to distinguish hanging, rolling plating, etc., which are expensive and cheap.
Having said so much, if there are still little friends who are stupid, they are unclear. Don't worry, another way is to distinguish through color.
Chrome -plated bright white, nickel -plating is a little yellow, galvanized silver white (in fact, there are color zinc, gray zinc, sub -light chromium, bright chromium, white nickel, and black nickel.)
Expansion knowledge:
1. Electro -plating production is mainly based on heavy metal pollution in sewage and sewage. The country has severely controlled the expansion of the electroplating industry and reduced year by year.
2. my country plating processing is mainly galvanized, copper -plated, nickel -plated and chrome -plated, among which galvanized accounts for 50%, and copper -plated, chromium and nickel account for 30%.
3. If the use is to prevent rust, you can use galvanized or cadmium plating; if the focus is to prevent wear, nickel plating or chrome plating is the best choice.
Electroplating is a deep learning, not a clear one sentence, and the plating method of each material is different. The processing before plating, the formula of electrolyte, the size of the current, and the time plating time will cause changes in electroplating quality. Aside from the others, the current is smaller and the plating time is longer. The better the product quality plated in this way, the meaning of a little heat, of course, the cost is also rising straight.
