What should I do if there is a taper in shaft machining?

Source: Browse:771 The release date:2021.05.27 [ Large medium small ]

First we analyze the reasons

1. Affected by the geometric angle of the tool, the resulting cutting resistance Fy is large, and the cutting deformation after processing is large

2. The radial clearance of the active top itself is large

3. The center of the tailstock is inconsistent with the spindle center of the machine tool, and there is a Δy offset

4. The gap between the tailstock sleeve and the inner hole of the tailstock is large.

The tailstock sleeve of lathe has been used for a long time, and the wear is serious, which causes the gap between the tailstock sleeve and the inner hole of the tailstock to become larger and larger, which affects the machining accuracy of the workpiece.

Generally for the above reasons, the lathe operator adopts some conventional measures to eliminate the unfavorable factors that affect the machining accuracy of the workpiece.

1. Reasonably choose and sharpen the geometric angle of the tool to reduce the cutting resistance F

2. Adopt new movable top with smaller radial clearance.

3. Adjust the center of the tailstock to be consistent with the center of the spindle of the machine tool to reduce the y offset

The above measures can be improved to a great extent, but for old machine tools, these measures may not be completely eliminated. We can also solve it through the idea of compensation, such as: the taper can be reduced as much as possible through the G01 method Offset.
