CNC machining is flexible and highly automatic, especially suitable for machining complex curve and curved surface parts, complex box and Prismatic Parts with a large number of holes and grooves. In the case of multi variety and small batch production, CNC machine tool processing can obtain higher economic benefits.
The processing technology of large CNC machining is basically the same as that of ordinary machining, but it has its own characteristics. Therefore, when designing the NC machining process of parts, we should not only follow the principle of good flexibility and high degree of automation, but also be especially suitable for processing the curve and curved surface parts with complex contour and shape, as well as the complex box and prism parts with a large number of holes and grooves. Under the circumstances of multi variety and small batch production, the use of CNC machine tools can obtain higher economic benefits.
When the tool is set, the point of tool change is determined. Since the program is also executed from this point, the tool setting point is also called the program starting point or starting point. The selection of tool point position should be considered first when programming. When the machining accuracy is not high, some surfaces on the workpiece or fixture can be directly used as the tool aligning surface; when the machining accuracy is high, the tool setting point should be selected on the design basis or process basis of the parts as far as possible. For parts located by holes, it is more appropriate to take the axis of the hole as the tool setting point.
The tool setting point must have a certain coordinate relationship with the workpiece positioning datum, so as to determine the relationship between the machine tool coordinate system and the workpiece coordinate system. The selection of tool setting point should be convenient for coordinate calculation and tool setting. In tool setting, the tool setting point should coincide with the tool position. The so-called tool location refers to the intersection point between the tool axis and the tool bottom surface for the flat end mill; the spherical center of the ball head part for the ball end milling cutter; the tool tip for the turning tool; the drill point for the drill bit; and the focus of the wire electrode axis and the part surface for the WEDM machine tool. When the tool needs to be changed in the process of machining, the tool change point shall be specified. The position of the tool change point shall be set according to the principle that the workpiece, fixture and machine tool shall not be damaged during tool change.
